George from Prana Therapies, and this month is all about remedial massage. As we all know, relaxation massages are great, allowing the body to relax and the mind to journey through time and space…or just fall asleep.
Are you suffering from aches and pains throughout your body, or do your muscles feel tight? Headaches, back pain, sciatic pain, or sporting injuries? Have you considered having a remedial massage? Remedial massage has been shown to be effective in treating all of these symptoms.
Some benefits of remedial massage include: stimulating circulation and assisting blood supply to muscles, increasing mobility and freedom within joints, and helping to repair damaged tissues faster and more effectively. By having a remedial massage, you are giving your body and muscles that tension release and alleviating problem areas we all suffer from.
Remedial massage therapy consists of many different modalities, here are a few examples:
1. Trigger point therapy, where direct pressure is applied to specific points in the muscle (this is one of my favourites);
2. Cupping is a gentle and effective technique that restores movement and flexibility; and
3. Myofascial release, which is useful for treating skeletal muscle immobility and pain by relaxing contracted muscles.
After studying massage therapy, remedial massage has come to be one of my favourite types of treatments. Why, you ask? Because it affords so much satisfaction knowing that I can assist my current clients as well as future ones, by giving them the freedom of mobility to enjoy everyday life pain free, engaging in activities they love.
So if this sounds like the life you’d like to live, then book in with me for a remedial massage treatment at our beautiful Mernda clinic. Book online or call Carol on 1300 772 621, we’d love to hear from you!
Until next time, live well and enjoy life :)
